Ode to my Tribe

1/22/2012

Singing Cello
A flock of birds
Tweeting the same song
Adding my verse
I now belong

Before, I waited
Til they landed beside me
To sing with them
Maybe in harmony?

Now I sing
With flocks everywhere
We key through the world
Alighting here and there.

Landing beside them
Those beckoning bards
Calling with their notes
Calling with their words.

Words turned to song
Tweets I now hear
From anywhere
Everywhere, right here.

One flock
One song
I now belong
Thank you.

Wow. Kinda misty-eyed here. I didn't see this on the Triberr blog roll. Can you pull it in manually? Everyone needs to read this fine piece!

From one who is usually quite shy and reticent, initially reacting to the mantle of social media as if it were chain mail, I stand amazed at all the tenderness, wit, caring and generosity I've experienced from total strangers. Your piece, in its heart-felt openness, is a beautiful example of what I mean. So glad you're in the tribe MK.

You and Jo are turning me into a poetry lover and, fear not, I leave the poetry to y'all. My love will not extend to attempting it...

I never knew how needy I was for praise for my writing until I actually received it from people whose writing I respect. Thank you, and I sincerely hope our tribe is a long-lived, fruitful one...life will be all the more meaningful.

Few words. Carefully chosen. Powerful in their simplicity. That's a gift and a talent. I am proud be among the flock.

You are more than welcome, Kathy Lynn ~ Isn't it amazing how we can feel so strongly for people we have never met, yet chat with probably more than we do our next door neighbor?! I was just feelin' the love for Triberr and Twitter, and it flowed (or flew as the case may be)! Thanks for the visit and the comment.
